Summary
Operation of liquid and liquid-vapour gravity-fed evaporators is discussed at some length. It is shown that gravity two-phase stream feed has some moderate advantages in terms of Reynolds number calculated for the inlet part of the evaporator. It becomes evident that the optimum recirculation number is the most efficient tool in intensifying the heat transfer with both types of the evaporator feed.
