Field test using HCFC22 replacements.
Author(s) : BARREAU M., WEISS P., FAUVARQUE P.
Summary
For refrigeration applications, the substitution of R22 is already well engaged. R134a and R404A are the best options, both refrigerants being widely available all over the world with the suitable technology. For air-conditioning applications, the study on a water-cooled system shows that both blends R407C and Forane FX220 (R23-R32-R134a, 4.5-21.5-74% in weight) exhibit close properties compared to those of R22. The large development of these two R22 alternatives will depend on the industrial availability of one of the components of these blends: the R32.
