Summary
A competition was recently held in Finland in order to identify means of reducing the energy consumption of commercial refrigeration plants. The two winning entries not only provided energy savings of 25 and 16%, they also enabled a considerable amount of condensing heat to be recovered for use in preheating incoming ventilation air. Both winning solutions had short payback periods.
