Summary

Given the increasing costs of energy, savings are necessary. Nevertheless, what is important is not only to save, but also to use resources in the best possible way. Refrigeration presents some advantages in comparison with other methods of food preservation. Energy needs and all factors that play a part must be considered. In energy saving, a good understanding of the operation constitutes an essential part of the program. An increase in storage temperature as a means of energy saving is not justified.
