Summary
THE FOLLOWING PURE AND MIXED REFRIGERANTS, R152A, R290, R270, DME, R12-DME, R134-DME, R152A-DME, AND R134A-R152A ARE CONSIDERED AS POSSIBLE R12 SUBSTITUTES, AND WERE TESTED BY THE AUTHORS IN A SINGLE DOOR DOMESTIC REFRIGERATOR. ALL TESTS WERE PERFORMED AT THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OF 25 DEG C (60% RH). THE MASS OF CHARGE OF THE REFRIGERANT IS DETERMINED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE AIR TEMPERATURE IN THE FRESH FOOD COMPARTMENT IS IN THE RANGE OF 2 TO 6 DEG C, THE TEMPERATURE OF PACKAGES IN THE FROZEN FOOD COMPARTMENT BEING LESS THAN -18 DEG C.
