Summary

FREEZE-DRYING WAS CARRIED OUT UNDER GOOD CONDITIONS IN THE STORAGE OF THE L-LYSINE HIGH PRODUCING MUTANTS OF CORYNEBACTERIUM MELASSECOLA. PREDICTING, IN TIME, THE VIABILITY OF FREEZE-DRIED SAMPLES, AS PERFORMED BY ACCELERATED TESTS HAS DEMONSTRATED THAT THE STORAGE AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES RANGING BETWEEN 4 TO 24 DEG C DOES NOT AFFECT THE VIABILITY OF INDUSTRIAL IMPORTANT MUTANTS. FREEZE-DRYING ENSURES THE SUPPLY OF SEED MATERIAL OVER LONG PERIODS.
