Summary
An experimental study was performed to investigate the freezing heat-transfer characteristics in a return bend with rectangular cross section. The experiments were carried out for two duct heights (30 and 50 mm) with duct width of 300 mm and convex radius of curvature of 159 mm. It was found that the freezing behaviour on the convex wall was much different from that on the concave wall of a return bend and that the cooling temperature ratio was an important parameter on the freezing heat transfer.
