Summary

Application of these methods to the detection of hydrocarbons produced by lipid radiolysis in irradiated shrimps. Irradiation results in the conversion of palmitic, palmitoleic, stearic, oleic and linoleic acids into pentadecane, 8-pentadecene, heptadecane, 8-heptadecene and 6.9-heptadecadiene, respectively. The contents in hydrocarbons are related to irradiation doses.
