German cold stores fight against a "quiet death".
[In German. / En allemand.]
Type of article: Article
Summary
The current crisis has two main causes: the changes in the European Union's common agricultural policy toward lower food stocks, and the restructuring of the frozen-food chain toward the bypassing of the middleman by producers and sellers as they build their own facilities. The article explores these and other causes, such as: suicidal competition, distribution logistics, transport costs and overcapacity.
