Summary
In 1998, distributors achieved widening of price ranges of prepared and other ready-to-use foods by introducing unbranded and distributors' brands. They now dominate several niches without having achieved growth in overall demand, as shown by the prepared-foods field in which sales have stagnated in spite of distributors' brands' strong growth.
