Summary
The paper deals with the problems that Russia will come across if it joins the World Trade Organization. The exhibition of agricultural products in Berlin (2003) showed that about 80% of Russian agricultural products wouldn't be certified by the European Union, and so, their realization in EU countries would not be possible. The European market is closed for Russian products not because of poor product quality but because the order to ensure the product quality and its control doesn't comply with international requirements. If Russia joins the WTO, it will take on obligations to align the Russian legislation with international rules. The first step is "Technical Regulation", a Federal Law 4-FZ. The paper analyses Russian norms and standards concerning food products. To help Russian producers, seminars and courses are organized.
