Summary

Pomona Company's procedures for fresh fruit and vegetables harvesting, transport, storage and distribution are reviewed by a responsible person. Importing, dispatching to consumption and wholesale trade areas are described. In addition, he tackles some special features of the company's activities: ripening rooms for bananas and diversification in quick-frozen products, flowers, decorative plants and fish. He details subsequently various types of refrigerating equipment, each one appropriate for specific functions, especially temperature monitoring, different sorts of packaging and further research.
