Heat transfer coefficient for boiling carbon dioxide.

Summary

The authors present results from a number of pressure drop and heat transfer measurements with vaporizing CO2 in horizontal tubes. The special properties of CO2 allow a considerable higher pressure drop than that of conventional working fluids, and the heat transfer coefficient is superior. This enables the development of compact, lightweight and highly efficient heat exchangers.
