Heat transfer enhancement for paraffin PCM by concentric annulus finned tubes.

Author(s) : ZHANG Y., ZHENG D.

Summary

On the emphasis of heat transfer enhancement on the side of paraffin, with heat medium as constant temperature heat source, heat transfer performances of paraffin PCM in thermal storage process were investigated. Firstly, a heat transfer setup was built. Secondly, the relationship among Stefan number, thermal storage time, paraffin temperature, radial distance was studied. Then, radial finned tubes were designed in different sizes, and the effect of heat transfer enhancement effected by fins was investigated.
