Heat transfer of ice slurries in pipes.

Author(s) : EGOLF P. W., SARI O., MEILI F., et al.

Summary

The equations describing a flow of a Bingham fluid through a tube with a heat flux over the boundary are presented. Familiar relations do not always apply. First experimental data on the specific heat capacity have been obtained. They are compared with model results. The velocity profile of a laminar ice slurry flow has been measured. Furthermore, ice particles of a water/ethanol ice slurry have been observed under a microscope.
