Heat transfer of oil-contaminated HFC134a in a horizontal evaporator.

Author(s) : HAMBRAEUS K.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

The paper presents the results from an experimental investigation of the effect of three different ester-based oils. The heat transfer coefficient decreased in most of the cases when oil was introduced. The results indicate that the decrease seems to depend on the viscosity of the oil. The heat transfer is found to increase when introducing oil in the special cases where the flow rate and the viscosity are low.
