Summary

DEALS WITH RESEARCH INTO HEAT TRANSFER WITH EVAPORATION OF COOLING FLUIDS AT HIGH EVAPORATIVE TEMPERATURES. THIS ASPECT IS PARTICULARLY INTERESTING WITH EVAPORATING TEMPERATURES OF APPROXIMATELY 323 K (50 DEG C) WHEN HEAT PUMPS ARE USED. DESCRIBES AN EXPERIMENTAL DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT WITHIN A RANGE OF 233 K (-40 DEG C) TO 323 K, TOGETHER WITH A PROCEDURE FOR MEASURING AND CALCULATING THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT. RESULTS OF MEASURING A CLEAN R22 AND AN OIL MIXTURE ARE ALSO GIVEN. MEASURING WAS CARRIED OUT ON FLOODED EVAPORATORS WITH FINNED TUBES. CONCLUDES WITH A COMPARISON OF R12 WITH THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TUBE. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 18, N.3, 1983, 25, 83-00938.
