EXISTENCE OF TWO TYPES OF FILM BOILING, NOISELESS AND NOISY, IN HELIUM II. IT IS SHOWN THAT A NUMBER OF PECULARITIES OF SUPERFLUID HELIUM FILM BOILING CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO THE SPECIFIC BOUNDARY CONDITIONS CAUSED BY UNEQUILIBRIUM VAPOUR EFFECTS ON THE HELIUM II VAPOUR INTERFACE. A CALCULATION MODEL OF THE TRANSITION FROM NOISELESS TO NOISY BOILING REGIME HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO EXPLAIN THE RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS: EXISTENCE IN THE NOISELESS REGIME OF FOUR SUBREGIMES CORRESPONDING TO FOUR QUALITATIVELY DIFFERENT VAPOUR FILM STATES.
