POTATOES, SWEET POTATOES AND CITRUS FRUIT ARE MORE RESISTANT DURING COLD STORAGE. METHODS FOR MAINTAINING A HIGH HUMIDITY IN ISO CONTAINERS AND COLD STORES ARE DESCRIBED. TREATMENT AT HIGH HUMIDITY, FOLLOWED BY TRANSPORT AT HIGH HUMIDITY ARE EFFICIENT TECHNIQUES WHICH ARE USED IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA.
