THE TEMPERATURE OF ORANGES IN WOODEN BOXES WAS RECORDED IN 17 CONTAINERS DURING TRANSPORT FROM AUSTRALIA TO SINGAPORE. THE FINAL TEMPERATURE OF ORANGES NEAR THE CENTRE OF THE CONTAINERS RANGED FROM 275.9 TO 279.6 K (2.9 TO 6.6 DEG C) AND THE SPREAD IN TEMPERATURE WITHIN EACH CONTAINER RANGED FROM 274.9 TO 278 K (1.9 TO 5 DEG C) WITH THE CONTROL POINT ON ALL CONTAINERS SET AT 278 K.
