High survival rate of one-cell mouse embryos cooled rapidly to -196 deg C after exposure to a propylene glycol-DMSO-sucrose solution.

Summary

When one-cell mouse embryos were exposed for 3 min to a solution containing 2.25 molpropylene glycol-2.25 mol DMSO-0.25 mol sucrose before rapid cooling to -196 deg C, 98% of the zygotes were morphologically intact after rapid thawing.
