Humidity sensors in HVAC systems.

Author(s) : THOMAS R. M.

Summary

The paper presents the results of a laboratory evaluation of humidity sensors for use in HVAC systems. Sensors to measure the humidity of the air entering and leaving cooling coils are required in the determination of coil loads and supply air quality. Three different humidity sensors were tested. Three methods were used to identify the most accurate sensor for use. The outcome of the tests showed that the most accurate instrument for field use was the dew-point sensor.
