Hydrocarbon refrigerants: performance in an air conditioning unit.
Author(s) : HAMMAD M., TARAWNAH R.
Summary
A 2,5 tons split air conditioning unit was fitted and tested, the R22 charge being replaced by a mixture of both butane and propane. The percentage of propane was used as a variable: results revealed that the COP increases proportional to the propane percentage, and is better than the R22 COP at bout 60% propane, for the running conditions tested.
