Summary

THIS FORM OF STORAGE, IN WHICH THE PRESSURE OF THE ATMOSPHERE SURROUNDING THE FRUIT OR VEGETABLES IS KEPT AT A MUCH LOWER PRESSURE THAN ATMOSPHERIC IS DESCRIBED. A HIGH HUMIDITY IS MAINTAINED AND VENTILATION IS CONTROLLED. THE SYSTEM AND SOME EXPERIMENTS WITH FRUIT AND VEGETABLES AND THE RESULTS ARE GIVEN. THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPEARS TO HAVE LIMITED APPLICATION. THIS IS DISCUSSED. C.R.F.
