Ice slurry cooling research: effects of microscale ice particle characteristics and freezing-point-depressant additives on ice slurry fluidity.

Author(s) : HAYASHI K., KASZA K. E.

Summary

The use of depressant affects microscale ice-particle features (such as surface roughness), greatly influencing slurry fluidity. The engineering of a workable and efficient ice slurry cooling system depends very strongly on the method of ice production and, in turn, on the characteristics of the individual ice particles in the slurry.
