Much scientific effort goes into make food as safe as possible up to the point of purchase. Thereafter the consumers' task is to keep it safe. Advice on how to do so is given: by washing hands and surfaces thoroughly and frequently; preventing cross-contamination of read-to-eat foods, cooking foods properly, and storing foods properly.
