Summary
The authors describe the results of bacteriological analyses carried out on different food products consumed in the United Arab Emirates; the bacteria concerned were Listeria. The species L. monocytogenes proved to be very rare, appearing occasionally only in imported chicken. Other Listeria, non-pathogenic L. inocua and L. welshimeri were detected in some products, without serious consequences.
