768 STRAINS OF MOULDS HAVE BEEN ISOLATED DURING THE SLAUGHTER OF SHEEP FROM THE ROOMS OF A SLAUGHTERHOUSE, FROM THE ANIMALS AS WELL AS FROM THE SURFACES OF CARCASSES AND COLD-STORAGE PLANTS. THE FOLLOWING FREQUENCIES OF THE DIFFERENT GENERA HAVE BEEN FOUND: ASPERGILLUS (34.6%), PENICILLIUM (12.1%), CLADOSPORIUM (11.94%), ALTERNARIA (8.7%), ABSIDIA (6.2%), SCOPULARIOPSIS (2.2%), MUCOR (2.1%), FUSARIUM (1.7%) AND RHIZOPUS (1.6%). NEARLY ALL STRAINS HAVE BEEN ISOLATED FROM THE WALLS (42.9%) AND FROM THE AIR (39.6%), THE REST CAME FROM WOOLS (6.6%), FROM THE FLOOR (4.4%), FROM INTESTINAL CONTENTS (2.2%), FROM SURFACES OF CARCASSES (2.2%) AND FROM A COLD-STORAGE CHAMBER (2.2%).
