Summary

With a turnover approaching 50 billion euros in 2001, the European refrigeration market is booming. Manufacturers must comply with increasingly restrictive regulations in terms of safety and the environment (alternative refrigerants, mitigation of the greenhouse effect, containment of refrigerating systems, refrigerant recovery). In order to meet these tightened requirements, this standardization provides environmentally-friendly solutions that ensure optimal staff safety. The four sections of standard NF EN 378 specify requirements relating to the safety of individuals and goods and to the local and global environment for: mobile and stationary refrigerating systems of all sizes, secondary cooling or heating systems and the location of these refrigerating systems. This collection includes the main safety and environmental standards as well as auxiliary standards (NF EN 378-1, 378-2, 378-3, 378-4, 1736, 12900, 13136, 1861, 13313, 12055, 13215, E35-452, E38-130, E38-200).
