Summary

States that energy-efficient office building operation is important in Japan, and increasing attention is being paid to air conditioning systems that can operate at part load with individual temperature control. The amount of equipment for variable refrigerant volume (VRV) systems (systems using multiple indoor units and small outdoor units) is increasing year by year. By law, each building must take in a certain volume of outdoor air each hour. Considering the factor of indoor air quality and an individual zone temperature control system, a new variable volume air conditioning system (VAV) which integrates the VRV system and does not reduce the air volume has been developed. Describes this system and explains it by comparing it to conventional VAV and VRV systems.
