Summary

Thanks to the annual update of this report, it is possible to provide highly accurate figures in inventories for HFCs, which belong to the category of global warming substances that should be declared annually by all the governments having signed the climate convention. CEP MINES Paris Tech provides these figures annually to CITEPA (Interprofessional technical Centre for Studies of Atmospheric Pollution) which includes them in annual statements made by the French government.
Overall results concerning the refrigerant market and distribution of refrigerant demand according to sectors and refrigerants are presented. Then the results of the report are presented in eight sectors of application treated separately by the calculations: domestic refrigeration, commercial refrigeration, refrigerated transport, industrial refrigeration, water chiller units, air conditioning, residential heat pumps and mobile air conditioning.
Themes studied for each sector are: demand for new equipment and installation retrofitting; demand for maintenance; the refrigerant bank; refrigerant emissions; refrigerant emissions in CO2 equivalents; refrigerant recovery.
