Summary
Until a couple years ago, virtually all the "jack mackerel" caught in Chile was reduced to fishmeal and oil. The article describes how due to environmental reasons, the Chilean government has been encouraging companies to process more for human consumption, providing incentives to invest in new shipping equipment and cold storage.
