Summary
THE REFRIGERATION, AIR CONDITIONING, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL SERVICES OF A BUSY CARDIAC CATHETERISATION LABORATORY WERE INVESTIGATED IN DETAIL AND PROPOSALS WERE MADE TO IMPROVE THE EXISTING SYSTEMS. AS AN ALTERNATIVE, A COMPLETELY NEW LABORATORY WAS PROPOSED. THE COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION WAS TO REBUILD THE LABORATORY WITH A MODULAR AIR HANDLING SYSTEM. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE ORIGINAL PLANT AND THE DESIGN CRITERIA FOR ITS REPLACEMENT. G.R.S.
