Summary

A PRINCIPLE POSSIBILITY TO DETERMINE DIMENSIONS OF ICE REGIONS FORMED BY A CRYOAPPLICATOR WAS DEMONSTRATED ON A GELATINE MODEL SYSTEM USING AN ULTRASOUND UNIT. THE CALCULATED DATA WERE CONFIRMED BY THE RESULTS OF MODEL EXPERIMENTS ON RABBIT MUSCLE TISSUE AND EYEBALLS. THE AUTHORS FINDINGS MADE IT POSSIBLE TO OPTIMIZE ROUTINE METHODS OF GLAUCOMA CRYOTHERAPY.
