Summary

With indirect and direct evaporative cooling, refrigeration systems are not only downsized in tonnage requirements, but the mechanical cooling plant may be "put to bed" earlier in the fall and not "awakened" until later in the spring. Maintenance requirements for the dry evaporative cooling design are reduced by not wetting the air-to-air heat exchanger. Figures are given.
