MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF A MULTI-CYLINDER REFRIGERATION COMPRESSOR USING HELMHOLTZ RESONATOR AND ACOUSTIC WAVE TECHNIQUES.

Summary

THE AUTHORS GIVE THE RESULTS OF THE SIMULATION OF PRESSURE PULSES IN THE SUCTION AND DISCHARGE SYSTEMS OF A MULTI-CYLINDER REFRIGERATION COMPRESSOR. THEY USED A COMBINATION OF HELMHOLTZ RESONATOR AND ACOUSTIC WAVE TECHNIQUES AND OBTAINED RESULTS FOR R12 AND R22. THEY FOUND A SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT BETWEEN TEST AND THEORETICAL RESULTS FOR DISCHARGE BUT NOT SO GOOD FOR SUCTION. THEY CONCLUDE THAT THE TECHNIQUES DESCRIBED ARE VALID BUT THAT A COMPUTER IS REQUIRED FOR CALCULATION.
