REPORT ON THE PROCESS AND ITS APPLICATION TO THE AGRICULTURE AND FOOD INDUSTRIES. THE GENERAL PRINCIPLE OFTHE SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED TOGETHER WITH THE TYPES OF COMPRESSOR USED, APPLICATION FIELDS (CONCENTRATION AND CRYSTALLIZATION BY EVAPORATION, DISTILLATION, DRYING, THERMAL RECOVERY WITH GASEOUS EFFLUENTS). SOME TECHNICAL DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF EQUIPMENT FOR THESE APPLICATIONS. SPECIFIC ENERGY CONSUMPTION IS GIVEN AND THE PRINCIPLE DESIGN FEATURES ARE EMPHASIZED TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE PROCESS. FINALLY, 2 EXAMPLES ARE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL, ONE RELATED TO WHEY PRECONCENTRATION, THE OTHER TO THE CONCENTRATION OF RESIDUAL LIQUOR. J.R.
