Summary

The use of magnetic fields enables non-contact technology to be applied. Results of studies on the effects of magnetic fields on micro-organisms have sometimes been contradictory. Partial microbial destruction has been observed by certain authors but these results remain to be reproduced. The University of Bordeaux is working on various effects, including the possibly lethal effect of pulsed magnetic fields, on various micro-organisms.
