CURRENT MAP SYSTEMS ARE REVIEWED, THE MOST RECENT HAVING A MA PRIMARY PACKAGE WITH AN OVERWRAP OF A HIGH BARRIER SHRINK FILM THEREBY ELIMINATING THE NEED FOR A POUCH OR LINED CASE. THE USE OF A GAS FLUSH SYSTEM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE OXYGEN BARRIER PROPERTIES OF THE SHRINK FILM CAN MAINTAIN LOW OXYGEN LEVELS FOR 30 DAYS. OTHER USES ARE AS AN AROMA OR FLAVOUR BARRIER AND AS A SECONDARY BARRIER FOR EXISTING SYSTEMS. G.R.S.
