MOVING AWAY FROM CFC USE.

[In German. / En allemand.]

Author(s) : GOTZ VAN RIESENBECK

Type of article: Article

Summary

FROM HIS EXPERIENCE IN SUPERMARKETS AND OTHER STORES, THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES THE CONSEQUENCES OF CFC RESTRICTIONS AND LISTS 4 ALTERNATIVE TECHNIQUES: SINGLE-STAGE COMPRESSION WITHOUT INJECTION, DEMAND COOLING, TWO-STAGE COMPRESSION THROUGH A BOOSTER COMBINATION, AND TWO-STAGE COMPRESSION WITH ONE COMPRESSOR UNIT. ALTHOUGH DATA ARE NOT YET SUFFICIENT, THE AUTHOR NOTES THAT THE LATTER 2 ARE SAID TO BE THE MOST ECONOMICAL, BEING ALMOST EQUAL IN THIS RESPECT TO THE CONVENTIONAL (R502) DESIGN.
