Summary

The authors report the spread of Mucor piriformis Fischer as a postharvest pathogen of cold-stored pears and apples in Italy. At the end of controlled atmosphere and regular storage, some postharvest rots on Actinidia deliciosa were identified as caused by Mucor piriformis Fischer. The etiology of this disease is discussed.
