Noise pollution from refrigerated trucks.

Nuisances sonores des camions frigorifiques.

Type of article: Periodical article

Summary

A regulation for sound nuisance from cold stores exists that is mentioned. Truck nuisance is blamed on stores who have no official means of action on transporters. The actions taken by public cold stores in this regard are listed as well as the limits they achieve. The Environment Department has been supporting the actions of two working groups since 1992. The CEMAGREF is in charge of finalizing a sound control programme on refrigerated road vehicles. The law, which is the only means regional authorities have at their disposal, seems difficult to enforce, given how complicated the cases can be. Units must be sound-proofed and the arrangements the publics cold stores have taken must be developed. Finally, an agreed guide on the relationship between transporters and cold stores will be worked on. J.L.
