Summary

Due to great change in flow and temperature fields caused by door opening and closing, the food could suffer from wilting and deterioration. Although there are some unsteady numerical simulations was done to analyze the effect on the flow and temperature fields during completely open and completely closed door conditions, little literature is available on the transient process of opening and closing which also have a significant impact on the flow and temperature field. In this paper, a CFD method was proposed to study the effect of opening and closing on flow and temperature fields. The results show that the simulation can reflect the reality well and validate the feasibility of the method. Therefore the improvement and optimization can be carried out with the advantages of detailed results and convenience by this method to reduce the change in flow and temperature fields under opening and closing of refrigerator door. The simulated method proposed in the present study may lay the foundation for further research.
