Summary

ANOMALOUS STEP-LIKE RESISTIVE TRANSITIONS HAVE BEEN OBSERVED IN THICK VANADIUM FILMS. ANOMALIES HAVE BEEN ALSO OBSERVED IN THE H-T PHASE DIAGRAMS FOR THESE FILMS, WHICH ARE MOST CLEARLY SEEN IN FIELDS PARALLEL TO THE FILM SURFACE OR AT LOW FIELD INCLINATION ANGLES. THE RESULTS OBTAINED CAN BE EXPLAINED UNDER THE ASSUMPTION THAT TWO DIFFERENT ELECTRON SYSTEMS EXIST. ONE OF THEM IS THE ELECTRONS LOCALIZED NEAR THE NATURAL PLANE DEFECT, VIZ FILM SURFACE ; THIS GROUP IS CHARACTERIZED BY AN EXTREMELY LOW VALUE OF THE CRITICAL CURRENT.
