Optimal control of electronic expansion valves in modern low charge evaporator systems requires fast reacting expansion valves and new controller design.
Author(s) : SCHMIDT F.
Summary
High efficiency evaporators are designed with smaller refrigerant charges that are very responsive to the load changes. The dynamics of modern evaporators require fast expansion valves and fast controller loops. The principles of different expansion valve types and the advantages and disadvantages will be discussed together with different control strategies.
