IN ORDER TO IMPROVE ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, IT IS NECESSARY TO OPTIMIZE THEM AS A FUNCTION OF COST AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION. DURING SYSTEM OPERATION UNDER OPTIMAL CONDITIONS, THE COP HAS TO CORRESPOND TO THE MINIMUM COST, FOR ONE YEAR OF OPERATION. THE AUTHOR PRESENTS AN OPTIMIZATION METHOD FOR A SINGLE-STAGE SYSTEM, AS A FUNCTION OF THE CRITERION OF THE MINIMAL TOTAL COST FOR ONE YEAR OF OPERATION.
