Author(s) : GAC A.

Type of monograph: Book

Summary

This book presents various factors to be taken into account when building refrigerated cold stores. Besides the classic factors such as heat balance, factors that are often neglected, including stored-product weight loss and frost formation on packaging, are presented. The author describes operating conditions in cold rooms according to outside temperature conditions and the type of products stored, etc. In the conclusion, environmental issues in general and global warming due to refrigerants in particular, are covered. Main topics: - Weight loss of perishable products stored under stable thermal conditions - Technical characteristics of a refrigerating plant - Simulation of cold store operating - Optimization of design of a cold room with self-contained equipment - Optimization of design of a refrigerated cold store - The benefits of cold storage in economic terms - Selection of a refrigerating system - Global warming.
