Optimum storage temperatures for live cockles (Austrovenus Stutchbury).

Summary

Phase change materials (PCMs) in packaging systems could benefit the seafood industry by helping keep highly temperature-sensitive products within optimum temperature ranges. Before developing such PCMs accurate knowledge of the optimum storage temperatures is required. The cockles were stored in a high humidity environment (RH higher than 90%) and at constant temperature conditions in the range (0-15°C).
