THE PAPER REVIEWS ALL THE IMPORTANT FACTORS INVOLVED IN THE FREEZING OF WHOLE ORGANS. CONSIDERABLY MORE WORK IS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE ALL THE PARAMETERS WHICH ARE IMPORTANT IN THE CRYOPRESERVATION OF BODY ORGANS. THE METHODS DEVELOPED FOR ONE SYSTEM CANNOT BE USED FOR ALL. SUSCEPTIBILITY TO TOXIC EFFECTS OF CRYOPROTECTANTS AND THE VARIOUS SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF DIFFERENT ORGANS VARY GREATLY. C.R.F.
