Type of article: Article
Summary
A differential scanning calorimetry study was carried out to investigate the mechanism of ice crystallization during rewarming of a frozen polymer gel. An endothermic trend observed preceding the ice crystallization exotherm in the rewarming differential scanning calorimetry trace was found to be due to the melting of ice crystals trapped in the polymer network.
